Hubby is a higher rate tax payer and I’m a stay at home mum. We have a joint account for bills and personal accounts where we have set amount of money each to do as we please each month. We both have equal amount.
Our savings are in my name but purely because hubby says he can’t be bothered to look for best rates/accounts whereas I do. I generally deal with our day to day finances but he has access to everything and I wouldn’t make major decisions without him. Equally he wouldn’t care if I switched energy supplier if it was cheaper xx0 -
I'd try to persuade your husband to explore any regular savings account linked to his bank account. Although how much you can save is limited, the interest rates are relatively good. It all helps. It's easy enough to set up a DD to transfer the money each month.0

Yes. We try to be independent of each other in some cases.

Joint everything since we became serious before even getting married 25 years ago. I do understand for some couples their money management attitudes don't align so keeping things separate avoids the risk of ill feelings or arguments. But we are fortunate to be perfectly in tune financially and always have been so it works to be fully integrated as there has never been any issue with each others money management or spending.

Some in joint names, some in my name, some in her name that I look after, some in her name that she looks after.
Reasons: looking for tax efficiency, making the most of referral bonuses & cashbacks, to keep money separate that is used for different purposes, keeping money separate depending on its source (inheritance, savings from employment, pension savings).loose does not rhyme with choose but lose does and is the word you meant to write.0
