It has now been some time since the new site went up and I have really tried to get used to it and like it, but it's just not the same.
One of many things I miss is the ability to hover over a post to see a preview of the text, I also miss the ability to click new posts form any location and find all the extra steps tedious. Yes I know I can refresh....
The profile pictures and names, and the signatures are just not as good.
So I come here every once in a while but it doesn't gel for me like it used to...
How are others feeling?
Edited to add: I made a new account, I had been here for years and had many posts

One gets used to the usual formats for forums, this one is unusual. It seems very clunky and amateurish. Yes, I miss the hovering bit too.Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.2

MSE upgraded to a cheaper format and we can all see how well that has worked out for everyone.
Good for MSE
Bad for the users.5 -
Suppose they were just being money savingThe forum doesn't bring them any income (does it?) so they bought a cheap basic model in the hope of p'ing off all the customers who didn't advise the use of the MSE recommendations!!!! ;-)0

Its total and utter rubbish and many parts of the forum are dying on their feet, I'd love to see how many members mse claim they still have, sending out x million e mails every week doesn't equal active members.
I used to spend lots of time here but its now just the occassional visit.3 -
The forums have been wiped out by the re-platform & redesign in the nmae of "progess".
So much simple basic functionality has been lost that evolved over many years that was taken for granted.2 -
The site just wastes so much screen space, so that I have to scroll more to see the content. The content doesn't grow if I resize the window, the poster info block to the left of the text is bigger than the text, as is the padding & Quite/Thanks buttons block below. It's typical of sites which place the importance of design fripperies over the user experience.4
