Waiting for a building survey report

Hello,
Would anyone know what is an unreasonable length of time to have to wait for a building report back. It’s been four and a half weeks now. I’m wondering if I have good ground to complain. I’m just so frustratingly disappointed and stressed about this.
I was told by him last Friday I’ll have it by Monday, to be then told he is literally proof reading it the next Wednesday, to then still be waiting for it the this Friday. He is making me feel fobbed off.
Thanks

It sounds like there's something dodgy going on. I would expect a surveyor to write up a report within a day or so.

A surveyor might be doing 2 or 3 or more surveys each day. How can he remember the precise details of a house he saw 4.5 weeks ago? He might have seen 50 other houses since then.

How did you find the surveyor? Is he a genuine RICS accredited surveyor?

I had mine the afternoon after they viewed the property. Even a full structural survey was back to me the next day.
Is he a RICS surveyor? https://www.ricsfirms.com/

Genuine and apparently award winning. It was on his desk waiting to be signed off last Friday. Then ‘literally’ proof reading it this week. His secretary today was surprised to hear he hadn’t sent it yet. Still no word from him since Wednesday.
We did get a verbal report the day after the survey. Told the physical report should be 10-15 working days, but may vary due to work loads. Now it’s been 22working days. I appreciate he may have had a lot to write up (apparently there were a lot of photos), I appreciate he will have other jobs to do. I’ve paid him a lot of money for this and I don’t feel it’s acceptable to take this long.

We had a similarly ridiculous wait for a homebuyer report last year. It was a legit surveyor arranged by our lender. I can only assume they were swamped with work but I was far from impressed.

A week for mine. Thought it was about right for a structural survey as they are more in-depth.

That is a silly amount of time. If it takes so long they shouldn't take on the work.

Is he RICS? I'm sure there's something about timely reports.

Our survey was done on Thursday 29th and we got the report back late on Tuesday 4th May, so only 2 working days really. It was 61 pages and had a load of photos

Thanks for the replies. I’ve emailed them for their complaints procedures and I will be following this up with RICS.
I wish I could make a claim against them for missing the stamp duty holiday, which I really think we will now. Hence the stress I’m feeling about this.

My house survey was done on 4th May. As per terms and conditions in contract of survey it says it would take 5 working days to receive survey report.  I have not received email copy after 3 working days so I have sent a reminder to surveyors yesterday.  I know he is good surveyor but you can't trust until you receive
