Price change after booking confirmation

Hi, I'm looking for some advice. I phoned Sykes cottages and booked and paid for a week's holiday in UK.  I have received confirmation of the booking but have now been contacted saying there was a pricing error and they now want to charge me an extra £2300.00
If I have booking confirmation can they do this or can I refuse and still take the holiday at the original price?

An extra £2,300 suggests a significant error.  What was the original price?

Was the new price on the confirmation?  This is usually the point at which a contract will be formed, not at the point you call and book.

They do probably have a right to rectify a mistake (check booking conditions)and charge you extra, you have the right to a full refund if you don't want to pay the higher price.

If you refuse to pay they will no doubt retain rights to cancel the booking anyway and refund you,

Original price was £949 which is on the booking confirmation. New price is £3345

Check the terms of the site, but when this happens pretty much every time they can charge you more or offer a refund if it was a mistake.
