My Sky contract is coming to an end soon and I am thinking about upgrading to their Superfast Package. I spoke to them briefly at the weekend and they mentioned Broadband Boost at £5.00 a month because one of the rooms doesnt get good wifi. Is this a worth while addition?

A lot depends on why the room can't get Wifi. If its surrounded by blue bricks or concrete (ours is not to reason why) it'll be a struggle to get wifi in there from a pokey little router box.

Hi Neil, How did you resolve your problem. Maybe a wifi extender might be a better option.Neil_Jones said:A lot depends on why the room can't get Wifi. I don't have a problem with wi-fi. I never said I did.

Have a read of the terms of it, I wasn't that excited when I read that they guarantee a measly 3mpbs wifi in every room or your money back - that isn't enough to stream Netflix.
It would cost you £90 over an 18 month contract and it isn't clear if you get to keep the extra equipment if you change supplier after that so you may end up shelling out again in the future.
Personally I'd invest in your own proper wifi router or mesh system that you can keep regardless of ISP. Although initially more expensive, it will probably be better and pay back after a few years or changing supplier.1 -
Hi LouiseAH,
If it helps, we did a story on this when it first launched and as Tallmansix pointed out, you're essentially paying £5/mth (£90 over 18mths) for a WiFi booster and a guarantee of at least 3Mbps, when other brands of WiFi extenders are available for around £20.

Or for boosters, a couple of suggestions are here: https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/broadband-and-tv/boost-broadband-speed/#tips-3
I hope this helps,
