This is what happens when you ticket a QC.You never know how far you can go until you go too far.1

I'd not seen that before - thanks. We don't see many court-successful motorists come away with a £1,500 cheque in their back pocket. I expect had it been Nicholas Bowen QC plumber, it wouldn't have been any more than £100.Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

This post is for newbies to help them understand
Following on with Parking Eye and the Barry Beavis case.
The following video is the decision made by the Supreme court. It involves two cases, one of which is Parking Eye v Barry Beavis.
Regarding Beavis, you will hear the Supreme court judge clearly state ..... "The main reason for the £85 charge was to meet the costs of enforcing the parking rules"
When PPC's, debt collectors and legals refer to the Beavis case as if it was a magic wand for them, and then add extra charges in the disguise of fabrications, one must ask (and a judge) ....
WHAT PART OF THESE WORDS DON'T THEY UNDERSTAND ..

Thanks for posting Beamer. That is really interesting. The Supreme Court are wrong though in thinking that there is parity between the LA and the PPC's.

And not forgetting that this very high court, the highest, created a major problem to the lowest, the county courts, who actually have better things to do.Snakes_Belly said:Thanks for posting Beamer. Question to everyone ..... Will the new CoP IGNORE the words of the Supreme Court if it includes costs for debt collectors as EXTRAS ???
When the Supreme court said "The £85 meets the costs of enforcing the parking rules" Who would be deemed correct ?

This video is for the benefit of those new to this scam.
The Video is 2 years old and it is the start of the new Code of Practice for parking operators.
This was introduced to the House of Commons by Sir Greg Knight MP who you will see smiling at the back of the House
Since then, it passed through "The other place", the House of Lords and is now law.
We are waiting for this law to be enacted https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wkjzNxP8VrY&ab_channel=AndrewGwynne https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wkjzNxP8VrY&ab_channel=AndrewGwynne
At the moment the two ATA's, BPA and the IPC together with parking companies have reacted badly and are, right up to the last minute, trying to change the Code.
The government would be very unwise to listen to further representations designed only for the benefit of the private parking industry.
This is a rare time where all sides of the house agreed

            NORTHERN IRELAND
 Watch this video below ....
The Consumer Council covers N. Ireland who say ..
"We provide free, independent support and advice for all consumers and businesses in Northern Ireland."
They seem to be similar to the English CAB but with a lot more clout as this chap had his Smart parking ticket cancelled
