Morning all
Bright and sunny here but still cold I am longing for some warm weather as I suspect Nels is too for her poor hands and the grand reopening of the spa !
DD going into the office today so I shall take the pups to the park for a run and dd will take them over the field at the back of our house later. I hope to see my dog walking friend.
This afternoon I am having to do a speed awareness courseI got caught speeding a couple of weeks ago, I was doing 35 in a 30 limit, they are doing the courses online atm due to covid so at least its at home, its about three hours long so I hope they have wee breaks ! Its completly my fault so I have to take it on the chin, I have been driving everywhere really slowly since then so it does work in that respect !!
Taff the feta and tomato pasta thing was delish, although it was very rich so we could not eat huge anounts, I did a big salad with it which helped cut the richness a bit, we will have it again as it was so easy. Tonight will be a quick chicken noodle dish after my course.
I am watching outlander on Prime atm which is brilliant so if anyone needs anything to watch give it a go.
Gers I am glad mum is more comfortable in the new bed, I hope you both have a comfortable day xxx
Snoozer I hope Steve is improving xx
Have good days all xx

Gers, I'm glad you had a better night last night, take care of yourself. Scotland seems to have it's care situation sorted better than England, we had two visits from the carers, just to change and sort bedding. We also had assistance from Marie Curie nurses and Tender Loving Care nurses who came overnight three times a week(the former were better than the latter who once missed a visit with no warning). Mum wasn't fit to stay up all night so me and youngest brother managed the other nights between us - the other 3 brothers were no help at all.
Steve was feeling much better when I visited yesterday but he doesn't think he'll be home today, I'm not so sure, if they have need of a bed I think he'll be someone they think can go home. Hopefully he'll have another day on the IV antibiotics. I feel much happier about him coming home this time though, last time I could tell he wasn't over the infection and that it would likely come back. I'll book another visit to take him his spare pyjamas and towels.

Morning all and thank you for starting the thread nmlc.
Quite bright here but now starting to cloud over in preparation for showers, that's 3 days so far, the garden has slurped it up and I have some rain in buckets again.
Gers, I'm glad to hear that you and DM managed a more restful night, thinking of you both and of course of any of us who are unwell or daring for others.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back15 -
Morning, just typed a long message and its gone into the wild blue yonder!!
Gers pleased to hear that you had a better night and you have some medication to help you cope. It good to know that DM is comfortable in her new bed and the nurses are better able to cope with her care. You are never far from my thoughts.
So yesterday we both ordered new glasses, that saw off a chunk of cash. DB has been referred for his second cataract to be done, the wait is up to 9 months.
Once home the cleaner had been so all was clean and tidy.
Lots of rain during the day and night, we needed it, the garden is looking so much better, but it could do with a week of steady rain to soak everything thoroughly.
Taken sausage out for sausage, mash and beans for supper. Have ginger sponge for dessert with some custard.12 -
Good morning everyone, bright with cloudy spells here, not so bitingly cold as days before. Asda delivery came smack on the beginning of the allocated time slot, love it when that happens.
Gers so pleased that your DM had a better night and that you have been given something to help you too. Also thinking of Snoozer and her Steve, Dumpling and family, Marie, Poppy, Nanny and Mr F and apologies to anyone that I have missed, hugs and spoons in abundance offered.
Yesterday OH and I managed to get the new house phone (ones for hard of hearing with much amplification and loud rings), the main unit and its butty were quite easy, but the extra add on unit was set up in French, but got there eventually.
Later I was sorting out user names, passwords etc and trying to find some music files which were on a back up hard drive in the hope that the magic young man at the PC company can set up my iPod for me, I use it a lot, but nothing has been added or taken off for about 6 years, I am crossing fingers that he can sort it all out and copy everything to my shiny new lap top which I am buying from them.
Lunch out today is arranged outside at a pub we often eat at with our best friends, OH thinks I am mad for arranging it, but so looking forward to seeing them, hopefully they will have patio heaters, but will be wearing my mega warm long quilted coat, lined trousers and probably my walking boots for optimum warmth. I am a chilly mortal at the best of times.
Take care all.
The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)15 -
Lovely day here but very cold- last night we had a really heavy hail storm, not exactly golf ball sized but big, and lasted a while, the garden looked like it had been snowing- not what you expect in MayGers glad you both had a better night, continuing hugs from me.I had a busy day yesterday, DS2 when he moved left a load of clothes, and has recently said 'get rid'.DS1 has also had an overhaul so I washed the lot ready for the CS. Originally I was going to put it in a charity bag to be collected on Tuesday... until I saw them collecting on Monday
- I think the BH confused me
Now I'll have to wait for someone to drop it off, and we have a bit of a car situation,DS1s is on a ramp,DS2s is in the garage as we speak, and ours is outside lying dormant in 'limp mode'.DH has it booked in but they can't do it for 3 weeks and they said it'll take 3 days work! DS2 is ready later, just a small job, and we'll have to make do with the work van.
Tea will be a mixture, beef stew or curry from the freezer, never sure if DS2 will stay, but the DGC usually eat something - need to do a loaf for DGS- when he stays over at DS he likes a bacon butty in the morning made with my breadTake care all x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Morning all, the weather doesn't know quite what to do today, should I rain ? or should I send the sun out ? Bit like me - a ditherer.Mr Fix It had his face to face appointment letter this morning but had to change the hospital, day and time. It's now on June 2nd and I'm allowed to go with him. He's also had to check up his latest test results at the surgery and book a new blood test. I think he could have a new career as a telephonist, he's spent enough time on it today
Meanwhile I was waiting for him to move so I could dust and hoover the living room (he likes to sit in his chair to do all the phoning, even though the phones are either mobile or cordless !)
Later I shall put some faggots and peas in the slow cooker ready for lunch tomorrow as Dad is coming over for the day. He's also booked himself into my salon for a haircut, so no rest for the wicked 😂 Tea tonight will be a beefburger in a bun, with a side salad for me and maybe chips for himself, then banana and ice cream for pud.Gers thinking of you both.Snoozer hope Steve is better again today. Hope he can come home soon.Take care all, stay safe. Hugs to all today.nan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently15 -

Bella, your current hair colour sounds, erm, interesting ! I'm having my colour in next week, I know several people who are electing to stay grey, but I'm not, it's dye all the way for me.
Dp1, pity about your hours wait at the RVI, at least you were out of the wind and rain. I didn't think PMark had much, but as you say it's between seasons . I like TK, didn't buy anything yesterday, I was in for ages though. I prefer the MetroCentre TK, it seems lighter somehow.11 -
I'm another refusing to be grey as well and always have a supply of John Frieda Precision in my toiletry drawer! (In fact I got 2 more boxes this morning as it was on offer). My two bestest friends decided to let nature take its course a while back. One is now pure white and the other a rather nice steel grey. Mine would be pure white I'm sad to say so no thank you! We used to see a lady around town with obviously dyed jet black hair and she must be well in her eighties so I keep thinking at what age should I give in to the grey/white before people talk about me like that?! x
Editing to add that I don't dye it black btw, it's Medium Chocolate Brown! x"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"8
