Used Car - Engine Damage .......any comeback on the Garage/ dealership?
Comments
-
final update as people might be interested. picked the car up today from the Honda dealership. Honda refused to repair as a good will gesture and offered 40% of parts which considering the amount of labour involved was a minimal contribution to the 1.5k bill. The Car Supermarket I bought it from agreed to cover the full cost without any hassle or argument and I arranged for them to pay the garage direct. In the end there was no 'catastrophic' engine damage and the problem was rectified by replacing the cam belt. Although not having a warranty the fact I bought it from a large reputable dealer with full manuf. service history seemingly meant I could make full use of my consumer protection. Now I just need to get the front wing repaired.1

So it's a cambelt that's gone ping.
What's the interval for that engine? Is there any documentation for it having been changed before?0 -
It's good to see that you got your consumer rights under the CRA 2015. The OP actually came on knowing their rights and were just given the usual bad advice from the usual forum resident. It is really sad for the forum that this happens every time.0
