It's GFM at my place, with the option of being anon when contributing, only knew the name of one, had a bit of involvement with another. I've not put in.

Only put in the £5, it's your choice.
Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.

Why on earth is there a thread on this at all? If you want to give £5, give £5. The opinions of a bunch of strangers won't have any impact on whether or not your colleagues stop to think deeply about why it was £5 and not £10...
Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!

I don't think people would judge you for putting in £5, especially if you don't know the person.

It is quite normal/expected that senior people in the business who earn higher salaries might put in a bit more, and people who know the person very well might put in a bit more.

£5 is plenty generous anyway - I wouldn't put in more than £5.

Thanks everyone, I ended up putting in £5 everyone else has put in £10 but it is what it is and I'm going to try and not care too much about it!

Will you be checking to see whether any others follow your example?

If it's being done with Paypal Pools then you can remain anonymous (only the organiser will see your details) - although if everyone but you isn't anonymous then it would be fairly easy to work it out.
loose does not rhyme with choose but lose does and is the word you meant to write.
