My 91 year old MiL cannot get on with the Moto mobile we got her last year (that has a Smarty SIM in it), and wants to go back to her old Doro 621 phone that was locked to 02 PAYG.
As it was a while ago that sim is deactivated. I understand as well as 02 that Tesco and Giff Gaff sims should work in this handset? What is the best value PAYG SIM pls that would work in this handset? She doesn't need data so the lowest price one will do and we can ensure that a call or text is made every so often to keep the SIM active.
Many thanks for advice.

Well if the phone is locked to o2 either research on whether its possible to unlock (not all phones can be unlocked) or obtain a o2 SIM. They do still do PAYG, albeit not at the dirt cheap rate it used to be, so that may be the easiest solution (or any other SIM from a network that piggybacks onto o2 should work as well)

Thanks Neil. Have found that giffgaff should work in an o2 phone so have ordered a free payg sim from them. Only needs a £10 topup and a use every 6 months to keep sim active I believe.Neil_Jones said:Well if the phone is locked to o2 either research on whether its possible to unlock (not all phones can be unlocked) or obtain a o2 SIM. O2 classic SIM off eBay, still some around for 20p.
It's a 321 tariff
I got 2 for 20p delivered not tried them yet.

Threads on HUKD and here.Agree, I bought the old 123 O2 Classic PAYG for 20p a fortnight ago, on eBay free P & P, which came !st class post, no idea how they make any money but that's what happenedYou have to top up by a voucher form local corner shop, the online O2 has problems for someWhen an eel bites your bum, that's a Moray0 -
They make money because they get a cut of the top-up you add to the account. I'm not sure how long that lasts, but it seems enough for them to sell the SIMs at an apparent initial loss.Farway said:getmore4less said:O2 classic SIM off eBay, still some around for 20p.

Didn't have a problem with my wife's O2 321 SIM topping up online. It'd be worth trying online first to see if that's the case, then pop down the shops if it doesn't work out.1 -
Ahh, thanks for the explanation, must be a nice cut then taking into account the first class post as well, good luck to themQew said:

Why not just unlock the Doro? Plenty of unlock codes going on ebay from 99p upwards. No free lunch, and no free laptop

Apologies if this has been mentioned and I've missed it but don't forget to get a PAC from Smarty to keep her number, text PAC to 650750
