I also don't work for Symbio and I know how to write 'write' right.  I'm with @Hasbeen in thinking that your emails indicate that your meter is running backwards.
Sorry, i marked the meter reading the wrong way around. Very good of you to point this out.

I do not work for Symbio either.   :D

But good you now know Symbio's billing criteria.

A read of the main Symbio thread should give you an idea of how their surreal estimating/billing scheme works. After a couple months it'll settle down and your monthly payments will be closer to your EAC/12, less in summer (as their overestimates reduce) and more in winter (when their overestimating peaks).

Always provide a reading on the last day of the month, without fail. This ensures the overestimates are consolidated monthly.

PS: I don't work for Symbio either. Just a customer who's analysed their billing gymnastics for around 20 months.

I dont work for them either,Substitute Symbio for Spartacus your getting the point.
As much as their an absolute shambles of a company in most respects it is at least made clear that they bill a month in advance before signing up,this is now the case for a lot of suppliers particuarly smaller ones.
Maybe you missed it or clicked on a majic button that said "save loads here",then forgot to check the terms and conditions you agreed to during the 14 day cooling off period?.

Even after "now" 6 emails, not one reply. And its now 10 days since they took my £31 direct debit but not taken the £131.68 still
owed for last months & according to posts here a month in advance.

I appreciate symbios customer services are completely hit and miss, and they appear to just ignore emails at times which is poor form,  however what staggers me is how customers can switch to them, then not read any of the terms of the contract or how they'll be billed. Its all there in writing in the terms and conditions and even on sign up. It appears people just look at the headline figure, tick all boxes and just accept everything without reading.....then come on here stating there has been a massive mistake.

The op needs to give some more details. What does it say on the bill. What are the readings they've taken into account, what is their estimate for next month? Is this your first month or are you an ongoing customer?

I guess it’s hardly surprising that they haven’t collected any further payments seeing as you have cancelled the Direct Debit and instructed your bank not to deal with them...

Op it does appear you never even read their terms and conditions or even how their "unique billing systems" work?

And if you have actually cancelled your DD then perhaps not a good decision?

By the amount of posts on here Symbio must be the most Go To, energy company in the UK. LOL!  :s

But perhaps not for you? So perhaps pay what you owe and switch away?

Prepare then to be charged a £10 per month processing charge until the DD is reinstated.
Dont be surprised if Symbio also block you switching until your debt is repaid, they shouldn't do this if it's under £500 but likely they will for 1p.
