Hi, has anyone joined symbioenergy.co.uk & been able to contact them. They just tried to charge me double double on my second bill with them. I have tried phoning 3 times & emailed 4 times with no reply. I am stopping the direct debit if i dont hear by Tuesday.  Now their charges are good at 12.5p for electric & 16.5p daily charge. But then they try this over charging scam. Not with me.

    @collectors  More info please.

Your meter readings for the last few months and the tariff rates charged, DD's paid., your own estimate of the actual annual consumption.

Cancelling DD's is generally not a good idea
Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill

This is normal practice by them if you are on variable direct debit.. Change to a monthly fixed DD

My Symbio bills generally say you are £xxx in arrears but because you are on Direct Debit we have charged you £xx (being the DD amount).  It reads a bit like a threat: "We would like to charge you 'double' but we can't".

Never had any issues contacting them, either by email or phone. Phone answered, emails replied to within 24 hours. Sadly, the very fact I’ve needed to contact them isn’t good.

Hi, thanks for the replies, i am not sure why, but i never get notices from this forum. But this is the email i have sent in different formats 6 times now.

    Dear Symbio,

Please explain the over charge below

    2021.04.30  16157.00 previous meter reading

    2021.04.07  15538.00 Latest meter reading

    =  619 units @ 12.2p = £75.52 + standing charge 30 days @ 16p £4.83

    Total £80.35 + 5% = £84.37 Why are billing me for £162.68 ??????

This is £78.31 too much, unless you can explain why.
I would happily pay this amount but your website wont let me do this as the payment field is locked of at £162.88 & i cant change it. As i have sent 4 emails & tried phoning without one reply, i will now stop all direct debits.

    C Morris

Direct debit will be stopped on the 06/05/2021 & the bank will be instructed to not deal with you.

You do know that Symbio charge a month in advance don't you?  So you will be billed for the electricity that you have used so far (or an estimate thereof) minus your advance payment for April plus Symbio's estimate of what you will use in May.

If this is so, no obvious warning was given when signing up & also see the right ups about this company that found Orbit Energy to be the worst scorer out of 15 suppliers, followed by Symbio second and Utilita third. Some communication would help this a long way. I have even got down to writing to them.
I take it you work for them???.

You have sent this 6 times to Symbio. Is your meter going backwords?

Symbio charge a month in advance.

I signed up with them last month and did read how they charge you in advance, you have the option of a fixed monthly dad or changing one.  And I don’t work for them.

I also don't work for Symbio and I know how to write 'write' right.  I'm with @Hasbeen in thinking that your emails indicate that your meter is running backwards.
