Hi All,
ref the title 'is there a parent that allows children internet access available please'
I'm trying to understand why Amazon keep spamming me to tell me that 'someone' just accessed my Amazon account from the exact same location that I am now.
Only I use my online accounts including Amazon. I'm unattached and childless.
My Singleton belief if that is the right term, is responcible enough to have both the child/ ren and online shopping account then **YOUR** place to be responcible for them.
From the media I read that parents allow their sprogs to have games that
require in game purchaces without a purchace limit, then 'oh.. it is
not my fault that they spent that much without my knowledge'
My belief is that parents allow their sprogs to use a pc for homework, which is laudable, but don't have barriers such as Net Nanny in place so that they can only use sites that the parent has checked. Even keeping the PC in a family area might even be an idea worth trialing for 21 years to see if it helps.
I thought (mistakenly?) that being a parent meant properly superviseing **your** child/ren and for example teaching them that when they use the PC 'for homework' they are in a position of trust, using someone else's payment details with out asking is called stealing at the very least.
There are plenty of ways of teaching the child not to make unauthorised purchaces, such as selling future birthday & christmas presents to pay off the debt or selling an existing console and games or even refusing to pay when school trips come up
I don't have the details to hand, but if I recall properly, it got in the news once a long time ago that a liveing with parents teenager took the parents car without asking and the police where left to handle things as if the car had been taken by a non-family member. Just because your car disapears from the drive, and your tean has gone out is not a guarantee of the two being related. People 'misplace' keys all the time.
Can you imagine an Employer makeing some with a known history of going out and getting drunk a key holder?

Can't see it being a child thing - more likely a general security issue and you haven't ticked the right boxes for the system to remember that that is a trusted computer.
But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,Had the whole of their cash in his care.

I read the post but haven't a clue what it means.
What have children got to do with you getting messages from amazon about account access?2 -
Hi theoretica I'm interested, this ' more likely a general security issue and you haven't ticked the right boxes for the system to remember that that is a trusted computer.' where should I look for these boxes to tick please?I don't do selling because of greedy fees paid to amazon and idiots that don't read or ask questions first, who buy my redundant laptop memory for their desktop build then blame me. So don't need 'Two-Step Verification (2SV) Settings:'I am 100% sure beyond every doubt that my account has not been compromised so don't need 'If you think your Amazon account has been compromised, follow these steps to make your account more secure.'Don't need a mobile to leave in a taxi or fall out my back pocket when I use 'the throne' to end up in the thronethanks

How does this actually affect you ?
The simple answer is to not allow children access to any accounts that have a debit or credit card attached to them.1 -

I am not sure how to adjust the settings - because I must have set up permissions, cookies etc ages ago - but the system sends me alerts like that if I log in from a relative's house or when I got a new device (and once when someone who was not me tried to log in from a different country, which is why the system exists).

If you are using Windows 10 then the Trusted Computer tick box is in the network connection area of Settings. It's not part of the Amazon website.0

I think you need to reconsider your condescending and derogatory wording on a forum where all people are welcome to discuss money saving advice and related matters.james_smitha said:My Singleton belief ....... parents allow their sprogs to have games ...My belief is that parents allow their sprogs ...
If you want to have a rant about parenting I suggest you go on Mumsnet where you will find an appropriate audience but they'll probably eat you alive with your armchair beliefs and the tone of your post.
It sounds like you are really sour about something trivial so go and take some singleton fresh air without logging into Amazon and avoid places where you might see some of the crazy people who have sprogs.3
