Afternoon everyone
I've just been having a catch up of the last couple of days.
Thinking of you and your mum Gers, as I know everyone else is.
Little one stayed last night so I took her down to my mam and dad's this morning - she had a lovely play and was running round outside like a mad thing!
She's fast asleep now - I have my ironing to do, then we'll have a play in the back garden till DD comes about half 4.
She's had 3 hospital appointments this week and another 2 next week - to say she's fed up is an understatement. They're taking her catheter out next week and then doing different tests all day to try to find out what's happening. She has to be there for 8am so will have to leave home about 6.30.
Life is just so hard for her at the minute, not helped by the fact that she's signed off work so that's messed her Universal Credit payments.
Eldest DD is loving her new job and living in Germany. Her kitchen was finally finished on Monday , so she's been baking this morning. Everything is lovely and shiny and new. She's been buying lots of little bits to make it homely. I just had a nice chat to her - she was telling me it's their Bank Holiday today and the so the supermarkets are closed today and tomorrow - she discovered this after she'd walked there!
I have a hospital appointment at Newcastle on Tuesday, so have the day off work. I'm hoping it's quick so I'll have time for a look round Primark and TK Maxx. I don't desperately need anything other than knickers and some summery shoes, but no doubt I'll end up with two of those big brown bags!
Well I'm going to do my ironing before the shout of 'Graaaaan! Me is here!'
Hope everyone has a good day

Gers, we were supplied with a box of controlled drugs for dad but thankfully didn't need it. Considering all the fuss about it and the nurses having to sign if they used it after he died no-one asked for it and we just took it to a pharmacy for disposal. We could have sold all the morphine if we'd been that way inclined and no-one would have been any the wiser.
Just back from visiting Steve and to be honest he is no better and no worse than he was before he went in so the antibiotics are keeping the infection in check but not curing it. The nurse said if it continues they would change them so I wish they'd get on with it.

Gers if your mum has reached the end of her long and very productive life I hope you will take comfort in the fact your tender care, self sacrifice and support for her end of life wish has eased things for her since you moved in. You will be sad to lose her but will know you did all you could during difficult times.Hugs to all the poorlies, carers and worried.Sorry about the Italics and BOLD. trying tp get used to a new laptop which seems to have a mind of it's own.TA. Voltarol Emulgel is the most effective of the range. Think you can buy it but our GP has it on repeat prescription. I've had umpteen flares during damp, cold and frosty weather. Like you shoulder. arm , elbow down to fingertips. My back right leg from hip to toes.I'm stupidly wary of Electric blankets but at the moment I have two warm ikea throws I forgot about from years ago one one top of the bottom flannelette sheet and one under the top sheet. They have made a real difference. I normally have two hot water bottles during bad flares. One at the side of me one by my feet and they help a lot.One started leaking so I've just replaced that.Sending positive vibes you'll manage to speak to the oncologist nan. I'm taking care of your suitcase over on the Fence. Would be a shame to lose it after all the years you waited for Dr Who to return to the girl who waited.Apologies for italics and Bold it looks a real mess.Take care all.polly.ETA Emulgel- missed an L out.It is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.
There but for fortune go you and I.12 -

Gers - thinking of you and your dm
snoozer - hope they manage to sort the antibiotics to fight the infection for Steve.6 -
Thanks folks. I'm awake because DM got very agitated so the district nurses came round to give her a breakthrough drug. She's settled now and I'm wide awake. The upside is that they found her dental plate which had gone missing yesterday overnight. Mum has secreted it in the bed. 😀 A little bit of joy can always pop up anytime.13
