Hi KeithP - I waited until the 26th April, so 5 days after the issue date

With a Claim Issue Date of 21st April, and having filed an Acknowledgment of Service in a timely manner, you have until 4pm on Monday 24th May 2021 to file your Defence.

That's over three weeks away. Plenty of time to produce a Defence, but please don't leave it to the last minute.

To create a Defence, and then file a Defence by email, look at the second post in the NEWBIES thread.

Don't miss the deadline for filing a Defence.

Just been on to a lovely lady at the ICO as Groupnexus are still asking for more proof of ID.  From what she said they have sufficient.

For reference they've a great web chat service so you don't even need to phone them up.

I've got that thread bookmarked, really useful, and my plan for the weekend is to get to a final version so I can submit next week.

So.....Had an email back from Moto and as a gesture of goodwill they've arranged for the PCN to be cancelled, and I should expect a letter confirming this in the next 10 days.

I'll make sure I complete my homework, just in case, but it looks like this will sensibly just go away.

MOTO have been cancelling these frequently. We encourage posters to complain to the landowner not only to get their own tickets cancelled but to expose the landowner to the grief these parking companies are imposing on their customers, in the hope they will have a very careful think in future about whether they actually need anyone preying on the people who really bring their companies wealth.

Wonder how long it will take to feed back to DCBL.  Matters not, MOTO have told you the outcome.

MOTO should really understand that these parking companies are not there to manage car parks, their sole aim is to farm for money.


Probably like other landowners, MOTO fell into the trap that it's to stop abuse.
As motorway services are normally in the middle of nowhere and you need to take your bank with you with their pricing ....... who do they think will abuse them ???  
MOTO need to rethink the use of parking companies and how many drivers will avoid their services

But keep going ahead with the defence etc until you get an official notice of a discontinuance from the CCBC or Court , never assume it goes away until you see it in writing

If the scammers do go ahead, that email from MOTO will feature prominently in your exhibits/evidence at WS stage.
