Silicone caulk expired?
Comments

Pipe insulation will do the job nicely - it's squishy, can be cut into neat strips, and won't deteriorate.Another option is a foam gun - a small one with a thin nozzle. Either spray in there carefully so it doesn't expand out too far, or else just let it cure and then cut away what you want with a chisel or knife. You can also get adhesive-foam. Once trimmed back, finish it off with a decorative caulk or similar. If you want guaranteed toughness, flexibility and adhesive strength, use StixAll. The only minus side is that it can be messy as it's so sticky - I haven't tried finishing it off with a shaping 'tool', but it should work ok - it has a similar texture.0

Well, I cleaned out the silicone yesterday - still no sign of hardening after 6 days! What a mess!!
Anyway I tested out a big blob of a newer Geocel tube last night, this was a general purpose one - and it's half cured overnight!
Safe to say that other tube must have expired.1 -
Thanks for the update.Have to admit that's a new one for me - expired sealant doesn't cure instead of cures-in-the-tube!Pleased you have it sorted.0
