Can I watch BBC I player without my own license

I don't have a TV license as I don't use it but I want to watch the snooker. If I log in to my mum's iPlayer account on my phone will I be allowed to watch it. I know if you don't plug it in to the mains you can watch away from your address and her license covers it. Would it work using my phone would they know it wasn't her?

If you don't live with your Mum, then you have no access to her TV Licence (unless you are temporarily away, like a Student).

The exemption for battery-powered devices is to enable people with Licences to use equipment away from home.

If you want to watch snooker, then get a sub to Eurosport (very cheap or even a free one week trial), and you won't need to  be a freeloader on the Licencepayers.

Sadly this is still illegal. If its Live TV regadless of the channel you still need a licence to watch it.
