Hi all,
I just thought I's let you know that I just had an email supposedly from paypal.
It was a very genuine looking email, stating that unusual activity had occured on my account. But having read the sender's address, service@ paypaI, I realised it was dodgy.
I have done some research, and IT'S A SCAM!
PLEASE DO NOT CLICK ON THE LINK! the link takes you to "trilinkexchange .com"
I would hate anyone to be robbed of their money, especially as it's so close to Christmas.
This is what the email looked like:

I had one supposedly from Paypal a couple of weeks ago stating that there was a payment pending to go into my account for about 48 euros. I knew there was nothing due to me and guessed it to be a scam. It had a link to log into my account(as usual)
I did not follow the link-I forwarded it to Paypal who verified it had not come from them.Annual Grocery budget 2018 is £1500 pa £125 calendar month £28.84 pw for 3 adults0 -
this site updates with copies of some of the latest email/phishing scams, including from banks etc

I received the one about a pending payment for euros, as well as some others about a need to update my details or closure of my account.
Paypal make it clear that whenever they write to us they always use first names. So any message calling you by your email address or just 'customer' is from a fraudster.0 -
I have had these from almost every bank you can think off, apart from anything else the grammatical mistakes in them make you supsicious.0

Hi,
Paypal has teamed up with a company called Iconix to help identify legit paypal emails from the spoof ones.
https://www.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=xpt/cps/securitycenter/general/IconixOverview-outside
Application is only in Beta now but paypal and other companies have signed with the company.
They have versions that work with Web based email clients as well as Outlook.

If it says "Dear PayPal Customer" and not your actual Paypal registered name is always a scam I understand.0
