house i lost out on still not showing as sold or even under offer two weeks later

Hi all
I unfortunately lost out on a house I loved about two weeks ago to a bid from a cash buyer. Seller was adamant they were going with the cash buyer which is fine as a mortgage buyer i cant compete with that risk elimination for them.
Ive been keeping an eye on the listing I can't help noticing that almost two weeks later the house is still listed as for sale - no STC sticker, no under offer, no indication that an offer has even been accepted despite the seller telling me they had instructed the estate agent to remove the listing.
I've spoken to the estate agent about two days after initial offer and they said it is a lag in the house coming off their system but surely two weeks isn't right?
What do you think - should I get back in touch with the EA to see if there is hope of opening the conversation of my offer back up or am i just clutching at straws and this is normal for cash buyers

EA's can be very lazy about marking houses as sold. Especially if its a nice house that is likely to get other people through their doors who they can then say 'sorry that one has sold, but we have this one you might be interested in'.
You are probably clutching at straws. You could try getting a friend to make an enquiry about the property if it will ease your mind that it really is off the market.1 -
It's almost certainly just someone not getting round to the piece of paper at the bottom of their to do pile that says mark that house as sold. If the sale had fallen through or the vendor had decided to keep open to better offers, the EA would be getting back in touch with you if they are in any way efficient.

got it
thank you1 -
yeah, at that point it simply doesn't matter. Each EA has a different way of doing thing. The important thing is that it's gone.1

you could phone the estate agent (or ask a friend to) to see what they say when you ask for a viewing....that may spur them into action.0

When we bought this place, it didn't show as STC on RM at all... It just remained listed as if it was available, right up until weeks after we'd completed and moved in... when it simply disappeared.0

Gave them a quick call - viewings have stopped but it says the vendor is still considering offers and is yet to accept one so it does look just like a lag in their systems
waiting on a call back to confirm. its an online EA btw

Who said the vendor is still considering offers? A person or an automated message?0

A person - however she was consulting an internal system and wanted to check with the negotiator handling the sale - sounds like no offer has been systemically accepted0

OK, it was the fact that you said "it says..." that made me wonder.0
