Rantband said:Why would Ebay contact you about selling limits when they are shown on your seller hub ? Have you now looked at your limits to see if you are over your monthly limits ? If not would suggest the only way to solve the problem is talk to Ebay.
I am only a private seller - some months listing lots because I am having a clear out, other months not listing anything.....
steviebabes suggests the limit will be a monthly limit - so as we are now the 1st May, it will have reset, and I will have the full monthly selling limit available.
But as I reported earlier - I had hoped that was the case, and tried to relist some items today.
eBay will not allow me to do so - because it says I have exceeded my selling limit.
So day one of a new month and according to eBay I have already exceeded my limit this month - by listing nothing and selling nothing.
As to 'talk to eBay' - I would love to, so if anyone can tell me the phone number where I can get through to someone who can explain what they have done to my selling account ? I have found it increasingly difficult to communicate with eBay in recent years - they prefer to direct me to read articles which never seem to help me.0 -

Where as suddenly in the last few days, everything I try to do on eBay - I am prevented from doing - with the message 'You have exceeded your selling limit'
And as for your example of when someone first signs up with eBay they could have a monthly limit of £650......
My limit as someone who has been on eBay for 2 decades is £100.
And I still cannot understand why I do not have a NEW £100 limit for May 2021.
And for the record, I have been back and rechecked all recent communication from eBay - and my selling limit has not been mentioned. Not to say eBay had reduced it, or that I have exceeded my limit. Nothing.
Also, weirdly when then checking "unread messages from eBay members - the ones listed I HAVE read, and I HAVE replied to the message from an eBay member when necessary - and got the evidence to prove it because I have a copy email.
So why is eBay listing it as a message I have not read ?

Even before this I noticed the Original Selling page was going rather wappy..... for quite a few weeks now.....
For example it was showing that payment had been received from buyers BEFORE they had won the item.
I mean DAYS earlier.
Really weird.
I noticed because before writing my reviews of buyers I check to see how quickly they paid - so was it the same date, or the next day or two,
I spotted the date the payment was received was BEFORE the listing ended - and usually before the buyer had even bid.

I am still hating this layout - I cannot get on with it. Even something as simple as tracking a shipment (probably 50/50 I send are tracked such as RM recorded or UPS courier). You have to manually c&p the tracking number into RM or UPS for instance until it updates on eBay (if it does). Other thing is feedback. I tend to only leave fb until buyer leaves me fb in case they leave a neg (only ever had one which was removed as abusive buyer). It used to be simple if you saw someone leave fb in classic view. Now it's a message 'feedback left' or something like that in between all the other spiel rather than a simple icon which you had in classic mode.
Hopefully eBay streamline it as why change when it worked fine for years albeit with a few minor changes over the years.0 -
I am out of ebay. I am doing my first car boot sale at the end of the month, it's just a nuisance having to build up an attractive stock of things to sell instead of getting rid as and when I need to, into a marketplace where people can see what they are looking for. And not so good for things you suspect are worth giving people a chance to bid on. Luckily I don't possess many of that sort of thing any more!
It is so complicated and obscure now as others have mentioned, and having to give them my bank details was the final straw.
I also used to leave feedback as a seller after I knew the buyer was happy, but leaving feedback as a buyer seems to have gone out of fashion.
Must be they have a different member base now of which I am not the sort, who are all happy with this new style of doing things, well good luck to them...1 -
Just logged into ebay and it allowed me to change back to the old view but it's slightly more tarted up. I don't have that fancy pants seller hub thing anymore. Thank the Lord!
Anyone else able to change back to the classic view?0 -
Well you're a lucky one as don't see anywhere. Another user mentioned some users were able to revert once (or had an option to). Not me though.0
