If you think this is any responsibiilty of yours then you are lucky the courier van didn't run someone over; you would find yourself in prison for manslaughter just because you ordered 5 bags of compost.

    Who's fence post is it?

Your title says 'courier company damaged MY fence post'

But then you go on to say it's the neighbors.

If it's yours then the company deals with you, if it's your neighbors then the company deals with your neighbor

The courier company will not be sending a courier out with a fence post.

The insurance company will arrange for a contractor to do the job. .lt will  be a small job for any contractor to do so   It will not very worthwhile.

The courier company will have no knowledge of when the  job will be done.

Is the lack of a fence post causing problems?

  • I'm actually rather impressed that the OP has decided to take it on himself to sort this out for his neighbour.

If a courier delivering something to my neighbour ended up damaging my property, I'd be more than happy for my neighbour to sort it out and save me the trouble of getting it fixed myself.  I'm even more impressed that the OP seems to want to do a proper job of it.  Good for him.

(If I were in the OP's shoes I think I would feel obliged to do the same - whether I was legally required to or not...)

Indeed, but the point is that the company have no obligation to respond to OP, no matter how aggrieved he might feel about it.
