Council Tax -££ on inactive account

Hello.
I recently had a flat mate move out of the flat we shared.
I now have a new council tax account.
I recieve 25% single and other stuff but when I recieved and email it said I could sign up and view my bill online so I thought why not.
I signed up to find my new account and my old inactive account but my old account shows -£55
Does that mean I overpaid?
Thanks

There's a minus in that and this means you owe them money and not the other way round.

But then I signed up to this and it says that0 -

I was under the impression "balance" meant what I have left to pay as my new account that shows £392 is correct for the statement they sent me and my installments for the year
So the -£55 would be I overpaid 55 on that account?
The new account opened last month, so Ive only just paid my first installment, not £392

Can you expand your old account as that will give a breakdown of the bill, how much was paid and whether there's a balance or refund due.
The expand your new account and see how that is looking.
There should be an expand or view bill / payments option.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.0 -

I was always up to date with every payment and paid one month in advance when the covid £150 help was issued
Which is why I'm abit concerned I may have overpaid0 -
I'm still reading that as you owe them from previous years and not they owe you. I'm even more convinced now i've seen the (maybe subject to recovery action part)Edit to add... we do have a member here that posts sometimes that has experience with council tax and i'm sure they will comment if they see this.0

I think the (maybe subject to recovery action) part is just generic and is probably there on all council tax accounts for the local authority.I agree with the OP that an entry of £ -55.96 sounds like a credit rather than an outstanding balance. It's possibly down to the £150 Covid Council Tax Support help that was given last year. If the OP had made some payments when the help was given it may have put the account in credit.I would suggestphoning the Council Tax section in the morning, or if possible, send a message or email.2

I read it as the council owes the OP money back due to the minus sign.Manual bills have a CR on them.I suspect online ones can't have them on so a minus is needed“You’re only here for a short visit.
