at the moment you can’t go on holiday but it’s hoped things may open up on 17th May.
as you may have seen in practice this is very restrictive,
do you have a few hundred each to pay for PCR tests? Even if your destination is on the green list?
are you also happy with the borders situation I.e. queuing 5-6 hours standing to get back in.
personally I don’t think that’s very safe wrt Covid let alone the discomfort. I have lowest blood pressure so I’d struggle to stand for that long.0 -
I sympathise with your situation, it’s really frustrating they won’t give you more info on why they aren’t cancelling.
i don’t know but I’m wondering if the 28 days to postpone is if you decide to do that.
if they cancel then you might still have that option at a later date? Although it doesn’t sound like that’s what you want consider the prices.
from what others have said it doesn’t sound as though they try to force a substitution on you which is good.
personally I’d want to know because I’d be slowly washing/ironing/ ordering prescriptions/ showing for sun lotion etc.
let us know how it goes0 -

That 5-6 Hours is an extreme example of LHR arrival, it might not be the same at other Airports or even there the majority of the time.
TUI don't fly into LHR !!
Not really, just read the news in a global pandemic and the outlook for global travel isn’t great right now (doesn’t help that the Tories aren’t playing it with a straight bat).0 -
According to their website you can change up to 7 days before departure - give you a little more time to wait for them to cancel.
As we are not expecting any further updates until early May, if you are due to travel between 17 and 31 May, you will be able to change your holiday for free to another time up to 7 days before departure. You will be able to amend your booking through Manage My Booking from Thursday 22 April, or if you’ve booked in a TUI store by calling us on 0203 4512688.

I just think the govt (Boris) should be honest with industries and the public so they can plan for jobs etc.
I don’t think it’s helpful to say we are opening up when in practice we are not (and I’m referring to PcR tests being too expensive for ordinary families).
I totally agree with restrictions. Holidays are not that important, families being separated (for example) is more important,
we’ll be hearing more on this quite soon from the industries I think.1 -

others have said they TUI do not force you to take a substitution.
I agree that not wanting to pay for PcR tests, quarantine etc. Is disinclination which may be a problem generally for people in future.
it looks as though TUI are being good though from what others have said.0 -
Golden_Glow90 said:I have a holiday booked with tui on 23rd May (it was last years holiday which we postponed), but I’ve found out that the hotel is shut until 28th May but tui have said my holiday isn’t cancelled. I’ve been told I can postpone again but the deadline for this is 28 days before. It will cost me significantly more for the same holiday next year so if it’s likely to be cancelled then I’d rather have my money back but I’m worried tui won’t cancel and I won’t have a hotel to go to. Anyone else in the same boat?
Last Summer I received an email from my hotel telling me the hotel was closed, i didn’t like the alternative I was offered so I cancelled the hotel, i booked it direct so wasn’t bothered, i just booked a more suitable hotel, then the problems started, my friend was due to join me for a week so I informed him the hotel was closed, he rang JET2 and they told him it wasn’t and everything was fine, 4 days later i went to his flat and told him to ring again as hotel was def closed, yet again they told him no problem, he asked them if I could speak to them, they agreed, I told them that either the hotel was lying to them, (which was highly unlikely as they had emailed me, plus it was showing closed on Trip Adviser) the management are lying to you or you are lying to my friend but we need to sort this mess out, he told me nervously he was working from home and didn’t have the relevant information on his screen, he told us his supervisor didn’t start until 4.00pm (4 hours later) and he would sort the mess out which he did, how can you run a business without supervision.
PS Don’t get me started with Thomas Crook
Hopefully you will get through to TUI and sort it out, Good Luck0
