The OR is managing cases differently now. It’s very much a “light touch” approach. If you’re debt is majority over 2 years and you haven’t done anything that would warrant further investigation (gambling, lots of recent debt, paying debts to friends and family etc) then you won’t even get an interview.

There is expected to be a huge spike in insolvencies (personal and company) in the next year and adjustments have been made to case handling to prepare for this.

Yeh the majority of my debts were taken out over 2 ago, 1 of which is well over 6-7 years, which I discovered was not statute barred as a repayment plan was in place to pay around 4-5 years ago.

Interesting to know it’s more of a light touch approach to applications at the moment. And I may not even get an interview.

just had a missed call from a London number (020 3787 1947, according to my bankruptcy details my case is being dealt with by the Birkenhead office) no details of the number via google search. Plus it’s a Bank Holiday Monday,

does the OR work on a bank holidays?

I had an email the day after my bankruptcy order was issued to sign some documents but not heard anything else since but only just been a week since my bankruptcy order was issued.

Hi Mart, can I please ask you what type of documents there were to sign? I submitted yesterday and got approved today, just wondering what the next steps are.

From memory they were just forms requesting authorisation to act on my behalf. And authorisation from me to allow the official receiver to investigate my finances and access my Bank accounts
  • Thanks. Can I ask, was there any point before your OR interview where you were able to give any additional info? I'm concerned that my case might look simple enough to not require an interview (from what I've seen not everybody gets one) but there's a couple of things I need to report to them that I haven't been able to through the application process yet.

Your Welcome, happy to help and give you advice from my personal experience.

I haven’t been contacted by the official receiver yet, I assume there is a backlog of cases within the OR Offices as I was speaking to someone via private message on here and they said they had waited 5 weeks before getting an email saying everything that needed to be done has been done and they no longer need to look at their case and just a case of awaiting their discharge date.

As far as I am aware there is no way to include further details to your application once you have submitted, but your bankruptcy order should provide information of the office dealing with your case. So I would drop them an email if your like me and not comfortable speaking to people on the phone.
  • That's a great idea, thanks so much and good luck with your new chapter!

Thank you, You too. Hope all goes well. Personally getting more and more anxious about the interview, if, I need to have 1, I’m praying I don’t
