Hi - I am looking at transferring a few thousand pounds to an account in the USA as USD. The best rate I can find is through wise.com (formerly transferwise.com). I've not heard of them and would really like to know if anyone has used them successfully (or not!).

I use Wise (Transferwise) frequently for both business us on USD$/EUR€ transactions, plus on a personal level for AUD$ transfers to Australia. I have always found them very competitive on exchange rate and transaction fees, plus always had good service experiences.
I'll PM you a referral link0 -
I can highly recommend them. I have used them every month for a few years now and never had an Issue. Depending on the country the money sometimes arrives within an hour of sending.

I have used them for several years.
Always the most competitive rates and your money moves in seconds.

I've been using TransferWise/Wise since they began, always found their service good value, efficient and fast. Once or twice a transfer was held up for checks, being informed of this in the app, but it moved on in much less time than they said it might take. Once I paid them twice by mistake, a quick call to their CS in Latvia(?) had it immediately sorted with a quick refund.Evolution, not revolution0

Yes, I’ve used Wise on a number of occasions for money transfers to different countries and never had any issues apart from sometimes transfers being held up slightly for checks (but their app always keeps the status updated so you know the progress continually).0

I have used them for several years now to various countries. Reliable and quick. Done transfers to/from UK and Germany and to Canada, India and Srilanka. Never had issues.SPC 08 - #452 - £415

They are a significant company, and indeed just about to become a PLC with their IPO.
Only used them twice personally but each time the recipient confirmed receipt within the hour and some of that delay could well be the speed of banks in the recipient country.0
