Anyone else having trouble leaving Virgin Media?

I’m having trouble leaving Virgin Media. I’m moving house and they don’t provide their service where I’m moving to, so they want to charge me a £240 exit fee. I didn’t want to leave and feel this charge is really unfair.
I’ve tried calling customer service and got through after a two hour wait which ended in an unsatisfactory call. So I tried their contact by text, I’m being told I can either keep the service in a property I won’t be living in OR pay the £240 fee.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Multiple identical posts on the subject .
You have a contract to supply at current house  no place else .
You choose to move to a home with no VM service cannot blame VM for that .

TBH, you do not have trouble leaving VM , you have an issue paying the early termination charge for ending your contractual obligation early , and your ‘I don’t want to leave VM’ doesn’t override their ‘ you committed to pay us for ** months ‘
Even though  you may be willing to continue if VM supplied your new address , because they don’t , they could ( and do ) argue , that it’s you , by moving , are upsetting the current deal, not them....it may sound harsh , but that’s just the way it is.

it is like any contract - mobile phone, gym membership, time share, pay tv, etc etc

you agree to pay £x a month for y months, and if you can no longer use the service that does not absolve you from the commitment
