Replacing Alloys on PCP Car
Comments

This is a truly baffling thread.
The OP says the garage replaced the alloys with "standard wheel trims"
But that means they've fitted steel wheels with plastic wheel trims instead.
So what's happened to the alloys....?

The O/P seemed quite specific...tr7phil said:I suspect that what has actually happened is that the garage has "hacked off" all of the locking wheel nuts (or bolts) and replaced them with non-locking ones and it's nothing to do with wheels at all.garage hacked off all 4 of my alloys and replaced them with standard wheel trims. However, my car is on PCP and is due to be handed back (or paid for in full next year). If I wish to hand it back I'm going to have to replace the alloys aren't I? Or face a hefty charge.0 -
For the hell of it, let's just assume the garage has, for some weird reason, helped themselves to the alloys and replaced them with steelies and wheel trims...
It does raise an interesting question when it comes to returning the car.
It really would rely on the collection driver knowing the standard spec and noticing it wasn't right.
They don't come with spec sheets, they don't come armed with photos of the car as supplied.
So there's a chance they wouldn't even notice, especially on a cheaper/smaller car that might not have had alloys as standard.

The driver may not notice but when the car has arrived back it will be given a further, full assessment.BOWFER said:For the hell of it, let's just assume the garage has, for some weird reason, helped themselves to the alloys and replaced them with steelies and wheel trims...
