I’ve noticed a red top newspaper, and some solicitors, are talking about a new diesel emissions scandal. Will Money Saving Expert have any information of this?

What loss have you suffered to give grounds for a claim?
Have you seen these threads?

It's ambulance chasing like the " have you had an accident" advertising.
If they were made to compensate ( original , not subsequent ) owners then you could do this yourself and not pay 3rd party scammers a huge chunk of your compensationEx forum ambassador

Is this the same 'scandal' of manufacturers conforming to a specified emissions test that has been around since 2014?0

There's been many, MANY threads.1 -
As above - it has been pointed out that although they may advertise as:
"No win, no fee"
what they don't say is:
"No win, no responsibility for the other sides rather large legal costs"0 -
Hiya OP
Please read link below.
Mr J has read on car forums regarding recalls on his car that people felt they got less mpg and the auto held on to gears for longer and he feels the same but he has not joined up any scheme as yet but does feel the car is not what it was when he first bought it.
It may go on for years but one one folds, the others will follow
Be careful with joining up, check out their T&C's carefully.

The highlighted bit, care to clarify, please.
No win, no fee means exactly that, IMO

No win, no fee means exactly that, IMO???He means that when you lose, NWNF doesn't necessarily apply to the other side's legal fees - which you might end up paying.(Need to check ATE insurance arrangements)0 -
NWNF means that if you lose, you don't pay for your solicitor's services. (Obviously if you win, you pay out of your compo.)However, fees for any Expert your solicitor uses, any third party testing etc., and the costs of the other side still have to be paid by you.So there is a type of insurance that you are asked to sign for, this magical policy just pays out the above if you lose- and doesn't even charge a premiumBUTIf you win, then you pay the really large premium on that insurance. So if you win, it is champagne and caviar all round for the team, and possibly a happy meal for you with what is left. What intrigues me are two things:they must think there is some chance of a win, otherwise they work for nothing. What if the compo is set at a derisory 1p or something, to reflect actual losses incurred, so you have won, but don't have anything to pay these due fees & premiums with? The legal fees are ok, as they are a % of the win, but the insurance premium isn't nor any expert's fees....I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....
(except air quality and Medical Science)

I could be wrong here but wasn't car tax based on emissions the cleaner the car the lower the tax so have all the people now claiming paid the government £150 for each year they owed a diesel car.0
