Maybe. In like the Congo. Got to get rich off those elite villagers living on $1 selling monkey pelts?
Actually people in most of Africa are more likely to use cooking oil based on peanuts or palms (including coconuts). Soyabean oil is of lower quality and is used by commercial caterers in countries like Britain and the USA.
If there ever was a trade in monkey pelts it ceased many years ago. Elite villagers in the Democratic Republic of the Congo are far more likely to be trading lithium futures or cryptocurrency.

Despite my naivety about investing, as evidenced by my current posts, I once bought an option to buy 40 tonnes of potatoes.
I was.working in my spare time for a potato farmer and him and his friends were moaning about a poor year. I made a modest amount of money, but concluded it wasn't worth the worry, because a) farmers always moan and b) local conditions don't necessarily extrapolate across the country.
I also knew a farmer who was cheated quite badly by the holder of his options due to his naivety. He had agreed a price to sell his potatoes before the season started and the price crashed, meaning he was going to do well. The options specified the size of potatoes to be delivered.
The person who had bought the options phoned saying he was in a desperate situation and really needed bigger potatoes, could he change the size? Given his good fortune he agreed to help out and delivered as asked.
The buyer then refused to pay the option price, as the potatoes weren't to contract, and gave market price instead.2 -
You used to be able to trade pork bellies until 2011 when trading was phased out due to dwindling interest in the futures.0

Load up on Soyabean oil fresh from the fabled Wisdom tree, get rich and buy that fleet of lambo's.Seriously, what's the point?Risk rated 7 for those amazingly returns.....Not.Soilbean oil was the third most consumed vegitable oil on the planet last year. Its also used in a lot of inks, as the base.Appears you need to take your investment research more seriously.... may be at the expense of the casual racism?
