Samsung Pebble 22" monitor - any good?
Comments

I've had a pebble monitor for about 3 months now and its stonking. (mind you, an upgrade from a 17" CRT was always going to be good). Bright, Vibrant colours, no dead or stuck pixels. Response time fast enough so that DVD's play brilliantly...
On the downside, there is a bit of light breakthrough at the top and bottom of the screen which is noticeable when playing widescreen DVDs which dont go to the top and bottom of the screen.
But I'm being picky. In reality, you dont notice it unless you go looking for it.
I'm seriously considering buying another one to take into the office. This 4:3 aspect 17" LCD (IBM) looks distinctly titchy to work with in comparison. (How did I ever put up with 10" CRT's ???)
Looking at the Samsung - buy it!0 -
Dont bother with the Pebble, I have the exact same same one and had nothing but problems. Yes they look gorgeous but mine has a massive amount of light bleed from the edges and a light patch in the middle. Thats nothing to say about the build quality, the stand is quite simply awful and not the most stable. The patch is a fault but there shouldnt be an excuse for the dodgy stand (apparently a design feature) I am still awaiting exchange from Samsung - got to wait 5-10 working days....0

Noticed in the newsagents that the latest PCPro mag has a test of 16 22 inch monitors in it. I think it said the winner was £122, but couldn't take a peek as it was inside a plastic wrapper.Charlie0

get one with a high contrast ratio eg 1000:1 or more for the best colour.0

Don't follow that as one of the main specifications of a monitor, it's not very useful at all because it's hardly applicable to real world usage.0 -

Probably because Dell have paid a lot of money for content in their magazine so they don't want to upset them
