I'm looking at getting a 22" LCD for around the £200 mark. This one seems to be the best - anyone any experience of this or would recommend something else?

The reviews are favourable.

Can't comment on the Samsung, but I've been using an HP monitor at work for a few weeks - it's just been replaced by the HP W2207H. This is essentially the same monitor, but comes with an HDMI socket as well. The screen is very bright and sharp, and I'm going to replace by AG Neovo 19" with one of these after Christmas. You can find this monitor for £199 at the moment.

when i saw the ads/pics for the samsung pebble 22 inch, (2232) i nearly bought this monitor, however i wanted to see it in the flesh first....so i wen tto pcworld and had a look....glad i did...what a load of rubbish..sure the picture quality was excellent but the build quality was shocking - the front and rear panels didnt seem to fit well and felt child toy cheap....as for the stand i couldnt stop laughing....i reckon if i hit it with a feather it would fall over!

i didnt like the styling much close up - fine for a tv but prefer those with less plastic around the edge

i was going to go for the hp2207 instead but unless the advertised specs are wrong - no DVI...what!!?

so maybe the samsung 226CW which has a sturdier base

  • what do you want to use the monitor for? Do you want the colours to look vibrant or REAL. There is a difference and maybe this monitor is not right for you.

There are plenty of 22'' monitors at around the £200 and less mark so no need to rush into any special offer etc.

If it is for general computing and DVDs etc then i suggest you go for a monitor that is reviewed as having a good vibrancy of colour rather than a monitor that is more suited for technical graphics work where the accuracy of colour representation is more important

  • i have a samsung 226bw and are very happy with it. Before i bought it there was alot of talk about different classes of the same screen A,C and S but moving from a 17" tft it was amazing, I could never go back. I believe the pebble is a very similar screen as mine. It has had no blurring for games and great black levels. Hope this has helped
