@poppy12345 - the OP stated that he sent the information in on 19th April, not 19th May.

Thanks Poppy. Do you think I should give them a bit longer to respond then? I know they get busy and might of taken a while to get through the postal service and to be scanned on.

It's entirely up to you but if it was me then i'd leave it a little while longer.

I wanted to come back and say that I spoke to DWP this morning and they said there was a note on the system to say my letter had been looked at in June sometime and they had noted the disregard and they would probably get in touch after the 26 weeks to see what the situation is. 

She acknowledged the letter had been received in April when I sent it but backlogs have caused the delay.
