If you move to a new property and want to claim help with housing, it will be a claim for UC (I think) as there are no new claims for HB.UC is paid monthly to yourself (just like a salary) and you are responsible for paying your rent. There is no reason you need to tell the landlord.I am a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Benefits & tax credits, Heat pumps and Green & Ethical MoneySaving forums. If they are staying within the same LA then they can continue with HB.As regards to telling the landlord about your benefits claim, some may request bank statements to prove you can afford the rent so they would see the HB payments going into your bank.3
