I used to knit a fair bit when I was a lot younger (20 something), no patience for it now. Whenever I dropped a stitch or made a bodge, instead of unpicking, I just used to sew up the holes later 😆I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)4

Good morning and happy Wednesday….almost half way through ☕️📚🍫
I tried to be good yesterday, by 3pm I’d cracked and had a sausage roll and some French fries crisps to bolster my salad lunch … oops. I will try again today. I did resist hotel chocs half price egg sale though!I redid my spreadsheets for next months plan and found if I spend no more than £50 for the rest of this month I will still have gone forward by just over £100 despite all the birthday present splurging and frittering. Not quite as bad as I’d thought, it I need to make a big step in the right direction in May.
Still no sign of my Hobbycraft refund or resent parcel!I hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday full of all the good things you deserve ☕️📚🍫🧁Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

Every step forward counts no matter how small. Well done.

Morning WW and wannabe frugal chums, greetings from sunny Suffolk. I've been AWOL thanks to a trip to Paris with 8yo and friends, Easter and my birthday and now holidaying back home with my herd. Obviously none of this has been very frugal although all saved for through 2 lockdowns so I'm not feeling too bad (yet). 🌞🎉 Just enjoying myself.
WW any progress is progress - do you have a goal in sight to motivate you? Maybe overpaying the mortgage more and saving less would be more interesting? I think a few of us are better at paying back than saving 🤷

Welcome back @elbree. How was Disneyland? Did you have a fabulous time?
For savings, it’s more about a decent emergency fund and then I’d like a car fund for when mine needs replacing, so I don’t have to go down the loan route again. I’m hoping mine will have a good 5 years in her yet though! I’d love to have a good £50k behind me…in my dreams 😬Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

@WinterWarrior have you worked out a figure you would want the emergency fund to be at?
Then you could work out what percentage you could save in a month, a year, before a certain date...
Also work out what 10%, 1%, 0.1% and 0.01% look like as that might help when you have the urge to splurge.Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent
