Oh that @moving_forward is cheeky! Not wrong, but cheeky 😁
I hope you don’t have to go in @Deni_debt-free_dreamer…and a mid month pay day, that must be a bit painful if dd’s come out at the beginning of the month! Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

I do have to go into work
But scoring many brownie points with my boss
My pay day is 20 of the month, has been as long as i've worked but as that is Sunday i get paid early which i hate!
For my PT job #1 i get paid on the 22nd of the month and for my other PT job i get paid the 1 of the month. For my self employment i invoice twice a year
My mortgage comes out on 25 and other DDs come out at random times so i just have to keep a close eye on my bank account

If this was pre-Harry Potter, the only Cedric I can remember is Little Lord Fauntleroy! He was more of a velvet knickerbocker type....elbree said:I love all of those things!
I'm clearly very undiscerning 🤣
I also love mean cats. We used to have a farm cat - a huge ginger bully called Cedric. I don't know why, my Mum named him. All the animals (and humans) we're scared of him. He was the boss of the farm and the surrounding ones. No-one messed with Cedric!2 -

@WinterWarrior is that where your beautiful bunny avatar comes from? Makes me go aah every time I see it! I do think that when the choc companies started dark choc versions, they didn't even have to advertise them...they were just noticed and eaten. Dark choc Bount*es take me to the....other place.WinterWarrior said:We have a wild garden, with a small wood down a banking (where the rabbits live), so garden waste is actually branded wild things habitat and left in a pile out of the way 😁 it’s one of the good things about a country garden. Next doors, however, is pristine….I bet they shake their heads at ours 😁 but I want bugs, insects, hedgehogs and rabbits, etc. to thrive here.Deni…bounty are the best!3 -
@Humdinger1 it is a photo of one of the garden bunny babies 😁 ooh I love a dark bounty, also a bit of bourneville, although white and milk are my go to choc.
@beanie the bag? I think it’s a bull dog driving a jag (as they do) 😁Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

Nearly caught up; on the last 10 pages! Do you think that you might be having a short but necessary period of adjustment in your new debt-free life? For a while, while I was in the thick of it, I think paying off the debt became a large part of my identity. When I'd done it, it left a big hole...sounds so weird now I see it written down. I had to get used to a new pace, and absence of fear and that particular stress. I was saying recently that some successes can't be easily seen. I have an old car on the drive and can please myself about how much work I do and whether I go for a walk, have a nap or both. None of that is visible like living in a Georgian rectory with Porsches parked outside. I've known those people though and they are 1 paycheque away from total disaster, because they have no savings and have maxed out both mortgage and every credit card they have. You'll find what makes sense for you because you're awake to the options...and you aren't like the people I describe above. They do have it all, but haven't yet paid for any of it so are vulnerable to losing the lot. Their identities are totally connected with how rich they can appear. Keep going, you're doing brilliantly love Humdinger xWinterWarrior said:@Humdinger1 I’m so glad to see you 🌈 I love reading everyone’s ideas and no one is barking compared to me 🤣 I am still really struggling with saving, I seem to manage one or two months and then self sabotage in some form or another. I’m mostly hovering around on what I was left with after paying off my debts and really want to increase this. The only good thing is that when something vile hits (pot hole I’m looking at you) I can cover it now without resorting to plastic. I took it from my mot and service pot, which was fully funded (barring disasters) for July and is now looking very sorry for itself! So at the end of the month I will have to fill that back up before adding to savings. The annoying thing I find is that instead of living pay day to pay day to pay debts, I now seem to live pay day to pay day to just stay where I am! Sigh 😖5 -
I remember! This could not be less like our bruiser Cedric the cat. He was not the Knickerbocker type 😂😂Humdinger1 said:

I too find it harder to save than to pay off. Maybe I need a better recording system with little incentives on the way. 🤔 I keep changing what I'm saving and where etc so my priorities are not clear, that doesn't help either!2
