I'm half way through my new book at the moment (Naomi Novik- The Last Graduate) and it's genuinely making me laugh and panic along with the main character. Reading is such a cathartic exercise.

One of my favourite memes at the moment is; "Jane Austen's works are timeless classics because she knew the real horrors in life are having to listen to men who think they're better than you and receiving unannounced visitors."
    That’s perfect 🤣

Good morning and happy Thursday 🧁☕️🍫
it was such a struggle yesterday trying to catch up on the days I was away, I didn’t know if I was coming or going 😖 I hope to be better today. Only 2 days and then a week off!
MrWW came back. The oldest cat was pleased to see him and woke him up several times in the night for food, so there was much cursing and moaning 🙄 That cat bullies him….he’s so well behaved with me. It’s the same during the day, he settles on my chair behind me and has a nice sleep, but if MrWW is here he goes and screams at him for a constant supply of food he then doesn’t fancy. As he has liver problems (the cat) he can’t keep much cat food down and mostly it’s about cooking him chicken or opening a stream of tins of tuna.
No spending yesterday, but some of my goodies arrived, so that was nice 😋 The sweetie drawer is well stocked in case there’s an apocalypse. Sometimes a packet of rolo’s or a Turkish delight (or whatever) is all that gets me through the day!
MrWW’s new coat arrived, but it had a rip in the inside sleeve lining! I just sewed it up on the machine (messily, as it was a weird seam), as I couldn’t face the rigmarole of sending it back. It’s only the silky lining where you can’t see it at all. I know it was a bargain, but still annoying. Luckily he was happy with the mend and it looks fine and fits well.
I hope you all have tremendous Thursdays full of magic and all good things 🪄📚🍫☕️🎃

Morning WW, how could you forget? We’re off to our cycle project volunteering today at the beach, thankfully the wind has dropped.

nothing much to report here, plenty of social engagements appearing in the diary, very nice 😀

Two days in and you forgot 🤦‍♀️ sounds very like me.

I also love reading and my company have just started a reading group and we can expense the book to the company 👏

My current read is The Other Boleyn Girl. I love historic fiction but finding it a bit hard going. I'm not in the right frame of mind at the moment.

I enjoyed The Other Boleyn Girl @Naomim, but I agree they can be a bit heavy. I have loads of Philippa Gregory books in hardback and used to get them every time they came out, but towards the end they started to get a bit I don’t know…dull, samey? And I abandoned my obsession! I think sometimes I have too much of something and then have to flutter off for a bit of magic or nonsense or comedy. I like the idea of expensing the books!
Yes I know…I forgot the blinking purple journal!! I have done yesterday and today and made up for it by sketching the cat harassing MrWW in the footnotes… 🤣
@carolbee I’m sorry, but I laughed at the thought of a cycle project on the beach…all the wheels bogged down in the sand and everyone falling off….at least I hope that’s what happened, it would be hilarious 🤣
