They get you to pass the buck back to the Sender to investigate!0 -

Unlike another parcel company that aims for the top! I remember when interviewing for Y000del earlier this year and coming across this news piece in my pre interview research.

We were expecting a parcel via YXXXX some time ago. Got home from work on the Monday to find a card saying 'sorry not in, please ring 123 to arrange re-delivery'Rang them to say that I would be in all day Thursday and Friday, and to request that it be re-delivered then. Nothing doing - it would be when the van was in our area next (ie, at their convenience rather than mine). Got home on Tuesday to find another card...Rang them again to say please don't try to deliver tomorrow (Wednesday) as no-one would be in - but anytime Thursday or Friday would be good. Again, could only deliver when it suited them.Got home Wednesday to find, yes, another card. Rang them to be told that as had made 3 failed deliveries, I would have to collect the parcel from them. I told them that a 40 mile round trip wasn't on the cards, and to return the parcel to M&S. In the meantime, I would speak to M&S customer services to tell them exactly why they had lost a valuable sale and customer. The parcel was delivered Thursday morning.0 -
Hermes tried delivering the same package to me 3 times, despite me telling them that I'd moved house and the company I'd ordered the items from had already cancelled their delivery as they'd made other arrangements.0

I've had loads of stuff through Hermes.Never had a problem, but then I have it delivered to my local Spar, based in a BP garage, two minutes walk away. 24/7 access so can collect on way home after shift, and takes the guesswork out of if someone is going to be in to receive it.Not going to work for everyone but if it's an option, definitely worth looking at.0
