You can have those pans re-enameled and if I recall correctly, you can even buy a kit to do it yourself.2

If re-enamelling doesn't work, or you just don't fancy it, then I think it would make a great planter for the garden.0

I think the biggest problem trying to claim on their guarantee would be this:MovingForwards said:There's a risk more of it could chip off and end up in your food.
Looking at their site, they offer a lifetime guarantee, maybe it would be worth contacting them and see what they say? (I couldn't find out anything more about it)To claim under this guarantee firmly attach to the cookware your printed name, address and nature of the complaint , together with the name of the retailer, if known.Return it, with proof of purchase, to the retailer from which it was purchased, or to the appropriate address given for your country of residence.

As the dish is 30 years old, I would be very surprised if there was a receipt available.
However, it might still be worth contacting them. The worst that could happen is that they refuse to do anything.2 -
I'd be tempted but not in this case. To me it looks like the pan has had good use already so repurposing might be a better option.scrummy-mummy said:You can have those pans re-enameled and if I recall correctly, you can even buy a kit to do it yourself. No man is worth crawling on this earth.
So much to read, so little time.1 -
Thanks folks, I've already tried with the company but they declined! DM has kept many receipts, some going back to 1957, but not this one!Although it's sad the casserole has given DM good service and owes her nothing.2

The casserole dish is going to a friend who will use it in his garden. Maybe for planting mint. I feel better about getting rid of it now. Thanks folks.4
