Le Creuset damaged
Gers
I'm trying to declutter some of DM's huge number of baking / cooking equipment and have come across a large Le Creuset casserole dish which she's had for over 30 years.
The bottom is discoloured but the main problem is that some of the lining has come away, it looks like a burst blister. Is this still safe to use please?
Thanks

Difficult to say without a photo and knowing if it in the exterior or inside of the dish? If it is the enamelled interior then I would not use it as I wouldn't want additional flakes to flavour my food.1

They have a 10 year guarantee so 30 years + would seem to be a good life. I would just give it a ceremonial burial in the bind.

Probably not dangerous or a health hazard.
But I bet it's a !!!!!! to clean now.
I would bin it.

If you have a local facebook freecycle or whatever group you could offer it on that. I hate binning things that someone could use, and I would find something like that very useful for crafting purposes.
But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,Had the whole of their cash in his care.

Soak in bicarbonate of soda plenty of you tubes and Google’s they come up a treat
If it doesn’t then keep it and use it a a plant pot cover.1 -
It's not the cleaning of it, that's easy enough done, it's the blistering of the enamel. The idea of offering it for crafting is an interesting one, I'll explore that. Thanks.0

There's a risk more of it could chip off and end up in your food.
Looking at their site, they offer a lifetime guarantee, maybe it would be worth contacting them and see what they say? (I couldn't find out anything more about it)Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.1
