What, Occy Health "verified" the epilepsy?  What does that mean in relation to your being able to do the job?  Are OH now to "verify" the hay fever aspect?

"Now I think I've jeopardised my chances with them, to me a conditional offer isn't a real job till made unconditional. "

Was your concern "about the low level of communication I've received from them" expressed in that tone?  If so, I don't suppose they were enamoured of your response.

Exactly my point, but yes the low level of communication is one concern but the fact that I expressed that to them is why I think I've jeopardised my chances with them

Have you told them that you need to give 4 weeks' notice and can't start on the 30th - and if so, what was their response? (This should tell you a lot).

Is the employer a national employer ?

Sounds annoying, who told you the dbs had been sent off ? Did you speak to the same person re it ?

Is it not the case that 1 hand isn't talking to the other ?

How were the sending it?   If you contacted the DBS and they had not received a DBS check request, maybe it was an intermediary who had not forwarded the request not the potential employer who had not submitted the information to the agent.
Did the employer say they would chase the process?
