I work in the motor trade and have done over 30yrs. last month my boss came to me, telling me I got a speeding ticket in a customers car. the customer phoned us asking what he should do. so my boss explained the situation, gave him my name and address and that was that. this was over a month ago, and I've heard nothing. so I'm wondering if the customer has paid my fine. surely he wouldn't do that?. if he has, is he breaking the law?.

Since this is a forum dedicated to private parking companies, you might be better going to Pepipoo.com and asking your question there.1

I thought I had put it in the general motoring section. maybe one of the board monitors could move it there for me. thanks.0

Whether the owner has claimed that they were driving (which would be very foolish) or not is not your problem. If they took their time in responding to the NIP with your name and address, they may still not have sent you your own S.172 request. I'd wait a while if I were you.
Are you 100% sure that your boss gave them your correct address?
As mentioned, a forum such as peipioo.com would be more appropriate.2 -

THe customer had 28 days to respond to the S172 notice, and you dont know how lkong the police can take to reissue, as now there is no time limit (bare the 6 months to prosecute the underlying offence)
