    Did you inform them upfront that you would be recording the conversation and do you have it in durable means that they accepted you doing so?

    And why aren't you advising what losses you incurred?

    Or do you think that just because a mistake is made you are entitled to be compensated? 

    I think you can legally record a phone conversation without informing the other party but the OP may wish to research further if he/she intends to use it in a 'claims court'.

    Course it won't stand up in court. It's a 'Gesture of Goodwill' and said gesture can be rescinded.
