I think that the DQ (N180) asks about interpreters so that they supply one (sometimes) for the defendant or a witness.  If you are going to be a lay rep, I don't think you want a court supplied interpreter - they might charge you!

Thank you so much! I’ve now emailed the DQ back to the courts. I’ve emailed a copy to the claimants solicitors as well but should I post a copy to them as well?

    Another question!
Just reporting Elms to SRA but then realised that they are regulated by Cilex. However the solicitor (Edmund Shoreham Lawson something) who signed the claim form is SRA? Who do I complain to?

Hello! I received my DQ and followed the instructions on the threads but regarding the interpreter question can I act as one for my mum? I’ll ask permission to be a Lay Rep anyway but wasn’t sure if you had to be certified to translate. Thanks guys for your help.

You don't need to ask permission in advance to be a Lay Rep. All you need to do on the day is have a copy of the Lay Representatives (Right of Audience) Order to hand and explain before the hearing starts that you are acting as such for the defendant as well as acting as her interpreter as English is not her first language.
If queried, point them in the direction of paragraph 3 of the order.

that is happening a lot recently, been lots of similar reports in the last couple of months , meaning Excel (and VCS) are taking back control of the litigation, for now

No need, fully expected and changes very little.

Please don't show the letters, we've seen it and thought you would, too, from other Excel and VCS threads.

Ok noted! Just the usual special offer of paying £75 now to make it all go away 😂
Do I respond and remind them I’ve already paid £100 to Elms and ask what legal Authority they have to charge the extra £60? (Beamerguy post)

Personally I think that Excel has backed themselves in a corner. Desperation is another word for Excel ?   I would respond, it's a paper trail all ready to show a judge ... that's if Excel are stupid enough to go further
