Dropped curb opposite drive
Hi New neighbours moved in last year. They have 2 cars and quite a long drive (enough for 2 possibly 3 cars) but they park both on the road. I asked the lady would she be using her drive as it is difficult to get on and off my drive (we have 2 cars that we move round regularly depending on who's out first). She said yes once they have cleaned the drive. After 3 months noting had changed so I spoke to her husband to ask if they were any nearer. He shouted and said no as he pays his taxes. They park further over our dive now which makes it more difficult. I have read about dropped curbs as they are parking over theirs but assume there isn't anything I can do and I have to put up with their selfish behaviour?

They park blocking your drive? And you have a drop kerb...?
Then they are committing the offence of obstruction, and a quick phone call to the local police on 101 should see them "advised".1 -

Someone is entitled to park outside their own house or any other house for that matter if there are no restrictions in force. There is nothing forcing them to park on their own driveway if there is space outside.
Just because it makes your life more difficult doesn't alter the legal position I'm afraid so yes you will have to put up with it.viola13 said:I have read about dropped curbs as they are parking over theirs but assume there isn't anything I can do and I have to put up with their selfish behaviour?
Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.0 -
Yes, that's right, their dropped curb is opposite mine, just wish they would park further up as no other drives that way. Guess there are some selfish and lazy people.

How wide is the road? Normal suburban one-lane-each-way?
Shouldn't be an issue getting on and off the drive, especially if you reverse on.0 -

Shouldn't be an issue getting on and off the drive, especially if you reverse on.Would depend entirely. I don't know where they live so can't comment on their situation. I can only imagine it similar to mine. The house across has a drive but some times they park outside it.The house next to them has 2 cars - 1 on the drive and 1 large car on the kerb. Our neighbours have a wide drive but instead of tucking up their car to fit on a works van, they will park their car wherever it lands and the works van is reversed right to the point of our fence divide, sometimes a midges over our side. The result is that when I leave for work, with the location of all these other cars, it can be a bit of a tight fit. I do it but it's tight and i'm having to watch left and right that I don't hit anything. My wife who is closer to the van can't turn out as she'll hit the van. She can't shoot beyond it and turn left because she'll hit the big car opposite the van. She has to pull out to her right, going the wrong way, then either turn at the top of the road and come back or turn right off our drive a bit, reverse on a turn to where my car was to give herself enough room to then turn the other way and fit between the van and car.A bit inconvenient but the world keeps turning & we're all still alive.I am also very cautious about taking complaints to people such as in these situations for the exact reason as what happened to the OP. You start questioning people and then they can get very awkward & you'll wish you didn't bother. Then that leads to frustrations caused by awkwardness and I know what my temper is like there so I try not to create these situations.0 -

Best bet is to get a cheap scoote r, chain it up where you want to park and move it. This will drive them up the wall, which is just an added bonus.0

Just keep reversing into their cars when you come off your drive; theyll soon park somewhere else.1

As this would be intentional it would also be criminal damage.
Another harebrained idea that no doubt in hindsight will be claimed as a joke.4
