Good office chair needed

I am 6'5a bit overweight with a history of a bad back.
Every time I buy an office chair to use for working from home it would not last. I have tried various chairs. Buyt either it is a gaming chair for £80 or executive chair for £300 they wold only last for a short while.
Anyone could recommend a brand or a place to buy a chair that would at least last for a few years without the need to replace it?
Thanks a lot

My employer provided one of these (with the optional armrests): https://officefurniturescene.co.uk/shop/office-chairs/ergonomic-office-chair/senator-fuse-chair/
I'm only a 6'3" shortarse, but I am a little overweight. This one isn't cheap, but I find it comfortable and it's still like new after four years of use 40 hours a week. It's a quality chair built to a high standard for commercial offices. Companies are willing to pay but expect things to be reliable and last for a reasonable amount of time.

How do they not last? What’s happening to them? How much is a bit overweight? Are you crushing these chairs? If you are you might need a specialist one0

There is an Ikea chair which is widely recommended - £150 my husband has one, and it's as good as new after 5 years of daily use

You won't go wrong with a Herman Miller Aeron - around £1000 new but 2nd hand can be easily £300 which should last at least 10 years more

£1k on an office chair? I know these things are subject to many hours of sitting so must be fit for purpose and importantly support the spine, but you do not need to spend that much surely.
OP - as another poster said I'd be interested to know how you position yourself on said chair. Maybe its time to focus on your sitting posture? That may be the most cost-effective long-term intervention you make.

So much to read, so little time.1 -
If you do go for an Aeron (which are lovely, but I'm unconvinced on long term durability and the price is a bit eye popping) you need to check which size as you're 6'5.
There's a small medium and large (you'll probably want the large) - most people have the medium, so that's probably what you'll find secondhand most easily.
You can tell the size by feeling under the frame at the top of the back - there are raised dots, small is 1, medium 2, and large 3.1 -
Best to look at proper office furniture supply companies rather than you usual furniture or department stores and the likes of Officeworld, Staples etc.
Yes Herman Millar chairs are good but there's a reason you tend to only see them in executive's offices and not the usual grunts on the office floor who need chairs that can stand up to a bit of abuse.0 -
