My EDF fixed contract will be ending on the 31st of May so the next fixed tariff available will be £81 a month compared to £69 a month. I have been looking around at the different comparison sites and some are more than £81 a month and some just a little less, hardly worth changing.

So, my question is should I wait till the end of my contract to change the tariff, or do it now what would you advise. Thank you

What's the early termination charge on the new fixed tariff? If it's zero then no harm in signing up for the new tariff now and jumping ship in a few months time if prices generally fall.

Or look at the early termination charge on the alternatives you have found at a similar price or slightly less than your EDF £81 a month quote. Move to one of them if they have a zero charge, with a plan to keep reviewing prices and moving again if needed.

You can move from EDF without having to pay any existing early termination charges on the existing contract if you move within 49 days of the contract end date. So if I've worked it out correctly, any time after the 12th April.
