DIY conveyance for a domestic garage

Probably not, but you wouldn't know what the search results would have been unless you get them. You understand what sort of things the usual searches cover?S4usage said:
OK, as it's "only" a garage is it still worth doing some/any searches?GDB2222 said:I've stopped DIY conveyancing. I used to do it quite a lot, but now I employ a solicitor. When I did it, I used a book called The Conveyancing Fraud, but sadly the author died, and it's no longer up to date.
If you are going to DIY it, you need to buy a suitable book, and there's a bit of a learning curve.0 -
do the searches cover buried services or special covenants?

You can get utilities searches which will show you what the relevant providers have on their maps in the vicinity of the property.S4usage said:do the searches cover buried services or special covenants?
Not sure what you mean by special covenants?
if you have any responsibility to maintain access roads or obligations?

Look at the title register or lease for any restrictive covenants1 -
Those would be in the title, rather than revealed by searches.S4usage said:davidmcn said:

Probably not worth spending hundreds on searches, for a garage costing a few thousand. But the OP has not told us the price. A garage in Mayfair would be 6 figures.davidmcn said:

No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?1 -
