It's a lovely house and you've clearly spent time and money on it. But I do agree with the comments about the grey exterior, the weathering doesn't do it any favours, and the garden wall is a bit prison-like! It might be worth getting some quotes to get the exterior painted, the house (and garden wall) would look so much fresher, especially if you can get some photos taken on a sunny day. A few flowering plants in the garden wouldn't go amiss either, you need to "sell the dream", and we're all dreaming of nice days in the garden at the moment!

  • The Grey of the house does not put me off but the grey walled garden does. If it was painted a lighter colour and had flowers growing up it or baskets on the walls it would brighten it up.

I would also put some coloured pillows onto your grey suite as this just adds to the overall grey theme which I hate (Sorry I am so over grey now)

I agree that to have to walk through a bathroom to get to master bedroom is not ideal but I could live with that for time being.

    Good luck

    Thanks for the reply.

I hear what you are saying, and might get my overalls on and get the garden walls painted (weather dependant.)
To be honest, we actually like the exterior of the house, but agree its a marmite finish
  • Being brutally honest, the 30k cheaper one looks nicer outside and would need about the same amount doing to it. Sorry, I feel mean saying that but personal opinion only. The layout of your downstairs is awkward, the beams are quite overpowering and the grey pebbledash, while okay on the house, is very prison chic in the garden.

I’d also be massively put off by the previous sale price being 80k less, less than 2 years ago, and the house in my opinion still needing considerable work.
  • At the very least I would have attempted to pressure wash the dirt and grime off the walls. You can see it very clearly in photo 16. It does look very off putting and a bit of a come down having looked through the photos of the inside which look lovely.

    What frustrating feedback

They would have known its location and proximity to the school from the advert. Same with scope for a playroom.... Though I can see why viewing would help with that.

I agree with adding colour to the walls. You can get established plants so could be a quick step to making those garden walls a little less enclosing

Feedback we have had has been varied :
Not close enough to local primary school (but its a 15 minute walk!!)
No scope to add extra room downstairs for Playroom (why would you want to?)
Liked house, but not location (fair enough)
Liked house, but not the layout (fair enough)
