If you have room for an LPG tank, why not consider heating oil? Based on current pricing oil will be cheaper to run and if I understand it correctly, with LPG won't you will be locked into one fuel supplier as part of the tank installation agreement?
Thanks Lohr500 - I would have to have the cylinder type not a tank - I'll investigate further nothing is set in stone just yet
Worth investigating. Smaller oil tanks don't take up too much room and the oil suppliers in my area can deliver in baby 4 wheeled tankers or even Land Rovers with a small tank if the access road or turning area are restricted. The cost of oil in a small tanker delivery can be a little higher but it would be a lot less than using 49Kg Propane cylinders!!!

If you can get mains gas connected for around £2k then it's a no-brainer. You'd get that back in less than 4 years, plus the increased capital value.

Yep it would be a no brainer but it was only a rough guess-itmate based on the thread from eastcorkram  It could be around £2k or £10k who knows without getting a quote, which the gas board wont do, without an independent survey which costs £428+ Not a kings ransom but in these hard times every penny counts.  Rock & hard place spring to mind
