I can't attach the picture for some reason. The crate had 10 packets of grapes on it and was on the bottom shelf.
The delay was as I was doing RICE but yesterday she had pins and needles which was a further concern.0 -
Op,
Polite email to Morrison head office.
Your a bit disappointed how it was handled, the delay /no follow up etc.
You "should" get a response and possibly some vouchers etc.
They won't give you £hundreds, only you can decide if you want "compo"route,.

I agree i would expect maybe £20-50 in vouchers, you will not get any compensation as you will never prove the store were negligent as anyone could of moved or knocked the crate.1

Thank you.0

I obviously didn't know that they weren't on the shelf properly as I would not want to cause harm to my own child, or anyone else in the store!
Did you pay the shop for the grapes that you damaged? If so you probably got to keep them, so maybe you could give some to your daughter while she convalesces.

OP if you want an actual answer to this it's best to speak to a solicitor. In the game of chess you can never let your adversary see your pieces2

The solicitor will probably get a few thousand and hopefully let you have enough to buy her an ice cream.0

I have emailed Morrisons and as suggested explained that I am disappointed with the way this has been handled.
Thank to those few who offered sensible and compassionate advice.0 -

I'd be surprised if any solicitor would take it on. You're talking minimal compensation, if any (and that would only be the case if there was permanent scarring)
Even losing a finger/toe doesn't net you a lot - a few hundred to a few thousand depending on how important the digit is.You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride1 -
This happened to my little boy in Sainsburys a couple of years ago. He was 6 at the time and he slipped in some milk that had leaked from a carton. Nobody had noticed it but he also wasn’t looking.
He sprained his ankle and the staff in the store were pretty great at the time. My view was that these things happen and I’ll be honest; I wouldn’t have dreamt of asking for compensation. Accidents happen and I couldn’t put a price on my little boy anyway.3
